Family Portraits Along the River- New Smyrna Beach, FL Family Photographer

I had a great photo session yesterday with Sarah and her family.  I first met Sarah a few weeks ago when she was the Maid of Honor for a wedding I photographed.  Yesterday, I had the opportunity to capture a photo session with Sarah and her family.  Sarah's mother and brother and his family came into town to visit for the holidays.  They had never really had a full family portrait before so Sarah had me set up a photo session and I was able to capture some great shots.  Here are some of my favorite shots from the session which I shot at Riverside Manatee Park in New Smyrna Beach, FL.

Thanks for letting me capture your  family's portraits.

I'm a wedding and portrait photographer based in central Florida including the New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach, Port Orange, Orlando, Flagler, and Titusville areas.  I will also travel for to photograph weddings and special projects nationwide.  I have been wanting to do this for a little while now, but have been waiting to get a good selection of images together from several weddings that I photographed.  Well, I have been able to do that now, so here is my new promo video for Emanon Photography.  Specifically this if for my Wedding Photography business, I have already made another for my Portraits, but I think I will be redoing that one soon too.

I'd love to know what some of you think about this video.

Stephanie & Brandon- New Smyrna Beach Wedding Photographer

When you think about where you are in your life today, there are sometimes strange turns of fate that lead us to where we are.  It was almost 10 years ago while I was in my freshmen year of high school.  If you asked me then if I was going to be a photographer, let alone a wedding photographer to years from then I probably would have said no way.  Here the odd coincidence is that going back to my freshmen year, Stephanie and I actually had a gym class together, and I graduated the same year as Brandon.  10 Years later, they got married and I was their photographer.

Here are some of my overall favorite shots from the day.  The wedding and reception were at the Hidden Lakes Golf Course in New Smyrna Beach, FL.

It was a little difficult getting this shot due to the setting sun right behind the couple.  I was fighting trying not to get any lens flare in the shot.

The Cake was made by the groom's sister.  She is trying to start a cake business and did a great job with this one.  I'm not sure right now if she has a website, but I'll update this post later if I find out.

Originally I was just going to try to post my favorite 10, but here are the lucky 13.

Congratulations Stephanie and Brandon!!!
Thank you for letting me capture the memories of your wedding day.

Portraits in the Park- New Smyrna Beach, FL Family Portrait Photographer

UPDATED: Full Slideshow

UPDATED:  The Photographer's Favorites

These are some of my favorite images that I created from the family portrait photo session I had on Wednesday.  I just finished all the editing and even used some new effects on some of these images because the subjects just fit.

I really like the effect I used below.  It just draws you in to the eyes which are the sharpest focus point of the image.

Anyways, this was shot at Riverside Manatee Park in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Stephanie scheduled me to capture her family photographs as soon as she saw some other images I had captured of one of her co-worker's families.

This was a fun shoot, even though I was racing the setting sun. I have some great images, so stay tuned for an update coming soon with more images and a slide-show.

Ashlynd and Morgan- New Smyrna Beach, FL Wedding

UPDATED:  FULL SLIDESHOW

A few weeks ago I first met Ashlynd and Morgan when I photographed them for an engagement photography session.  After seeing how the images turned out from that session they booked me to capture the memories of their wedding day.  On Saturday, they were wed in a ceremony on the beach at Smyrna Dunes Park in New Smyrna Beach, FL on the South side of the Ponce Inlet.  They are a real fun couple and their love for each other can brighten any room they walk into.  It was a real pleasure to be able to capture these images.

One of the coolest things for this wedding ceremony was the planned formation fly-over by these planes.  If anyone in New Smyrna Beach saw the fly-over it was for this wedding.  The Groom is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and arranged the fly-over.

The reception following the ceremony was held at the Nuns & Roses Bed and Breakfast in New Smyrna Beach, FL.  It is a quaint little B&B with a great area the call the 'wedding gardens' which is perfect for intimate outdoor receptions.  I had a chance to create some fun images of the reception and use some off camera flash to make the images below.

This image below is the Man of Honor (The Bride's Brother).  He was making a toast which was as serious as it was funny.  This shot came together with some luck and a lot of exposures to get a few shots that worked.  It was a little bit of a challenge to shoot the reception outside at night, but I made it work and I like the results.

The catering and wedding coordinators were from Encore Catering of Central Florida in DeLand, FL.  Including the custom made cupcake tree below.

Congratulations Ashlynd and Morgan!
Thank-you for letting me capture your wedding and your love for each other.

Cheers,

It's the little things, like 'Thank you' that make it worth it

Yesterday was a great day for Emanon Photography.  My business day started with a meeting with one of my brides and her mom for a wedding I will be shooting in two weeks.  We went over some of the details of the wedding and I had a chance to get to know them a little better as well.  They ended up buying me lunch and will probably be booking me soon for a Morning after the wedding family portrait session.

Later I met with another one of my brides whose wedding I will be photographing in mid November to go over some details with her.  I shot a family portrait session with her a few weeks ago and she surprised me with a thank you card and a gift certificate to a local restaurant to thank me for the photos.

Working as a photographer is quickly becoming the coolest job I could have ever imagined.  I can make my clients and their family members cry tears of joy with just a few clicks of my shutter.  It blows my mind, and I am grateful for all my clients and their support of this adventure I call Emanon Photography.

Thank you, to all my Past, Present, and Future Clients!!!

Family Portrait Session with Stephanie and Brandon

UPDATED:  Watch the full slide show here.

On Tuesday this week I had the opportunity to shoot some family portraits for a couple friends at Old Fort Park in New Smyrna Beach, FL.  I went to High School with Stephanie and Brandon back when New Smyrna Beach High School was still on the island.  I had run into Stephanie about 2 years ago where she works and I knew I remembered her from high school but could not remember what class we had together.  It took me awhile but I finally realized what class it was.  Stephanie and Brandon welcomed their son into the world just over a year ago, which makes this a great opportunity to start a tradition of family photos every year.  I was really happy with the way these photos turned out.  It is always a challenge photographing little ones, even with a few tricks up my sleeve.  Here are a few of my favorite shots from the family portrait session.  (I've also made a full photo slideshow video of this shoot which I will add to this post tomorrow after I show it to Stephanie and Brandon).

I am looking forward to photographing Stephanie and Brandon's wedding in a couple months.  So Stay tuned, more great shots are still to come.

New Smyrna Beach Engagement Photography: Ashlynd and Morgan

UPDATED POST:  Watch the full Slideshow.

On Saturday I met with a really fun couple and their dog to shoot their engagement photos.  The photo session was scheduled to make the most of the time just before sunset, the "golden hour"as photographers call it.  The photo session was shot at Smyrna Dunes park on the North end of New Smyrna Beach, FL.  The photo session started with a walk along the boardwalk where I had a chance to get to know Ashlynd and Morgan as we walked and talked and I shot photos.  We made our way to the South jetty of Ponce Inlet on the beach which is where their wedding ceremony will be.  These shots are just a sample of the whole shoot but they are some of my favorite ones.

Their dog Timber was a great addition to the photo session.  He was really well trained and seemed to pose on command when needed.  He will also be the Ring-barer for the upcoming wedding.

We had some great light right before sunset.  We even ran into another photographer along the boardwalk who seemed to be shooting some senior portraits.

This is one of the shots where Timber seemed to pose right on command.

On of the shots I really like was this one which I just got just after I put my 50mm lens on my camera.  I really like the way this lens can really blur the background out completely so you focus only on the subject of the photo.

This photo session was a lot of fun.  Congratulations to Ashlynd and Morgan!
Thanks for letting me capture your love for each other.
